Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. will Provide Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Shots for Young Children 6 Months Through 4 Years of Age Sat., July 30 from 10 AM – 1 PM at Makowski School #99 Parking Lot, 1095 Jefferson Ave.

This is in addition to ongoing COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots for ages 12 and up; and COVID-19 pediatric vaccinations for ages 5-11.

This is a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, a 3-dose series, each ,which is a tenth of the adult dose.

The vaccine doses will be given as follows:

•DOSE 1: 6 Months to 4 Years Old

•DOSE2: Given 3-8 Weeks After Dose 1

•Dose 3: Given at least 8 weeks after Dose 2

According to HealthyChildren.org, the 3-dose vaccine (Pfizer) was first tested using 2 doses. Adding the third dose was found to be more effective at protecting babies and young children from the omicron variant that is that is the most common variant spreading in the United States right now. Children will have highest degree of protection two weeks after they get the last required dose. In addition, the COVID-19 vaccine may be given at the same time as other immunizations, so catching up on other vaccinations at the same visit is possible.
