Annual Black History Celebration

The Buffalo African American Museum invites you to attend the opening of the Black History Month Celebration during the Month of February 2022.

The opening Program for this Celebration is Friday, February 4, 2022, at 12:00 Noon, in the Circle of Knowledge, on the Main Floor of the Downtown Library in Lafayette Square. The program will feature African American historically centered musical and dramatic performances. 

Local Black Organizations with historical backgrounds will have exhibits on display of the role they each play in the growth and development of Buffalo’s African American community and WNY. 

Participating organizations are: African American Cultural Center, Buffalo African American Museum, Colored Musicians Club, Michigan Street Baptist Church, Nash House, WUFO Radio, The Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor Commission.

The Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor Commission will share plans being made to develop the historic Michigan Street Corridor.
