Bill Played Like Champions Despite Heartbreaking  Overtime Loss to Chiefs

by George Radney

The Bills played one heck of a game in Kansas City  Sunday. And the general consensus among most fans, is that they played like the champions they are  despite the heartbreaking  36-42 overtime loss to the Chiefs.

-Recap-

This game turned out to be everything we all expected it to be with a 14 – 14 games at the half. The Bills and Chiefs turned it up in fourth quarter with both teams combining for 25 points being scored in last two minutes of the game. I have never witnessed an offensive explosion like this ever in an NFL game. I think Josh Allen rose  to being one of the top quarterbacks in the game that day.

The  defensive unit   should be embarrassed by not being able to hold Patrick Mahomes and KC Chiefs for 13 seconds. It was almost  like DC Frazier was afraid of his unit giving up another big play in those final critical seconds. They prevented a big play but allowed Mahomes to complete a 25-yard pass to put them within field goal range. The Bills defensive backs were at least ten yards off  line of scrimmage Chief’s kicker Harrison Butker, who  is better at making long kicks rather than short ones. The Bills should have squibbed the kickoff forcing Chiefs to field the ball and run some time off the  clock.

Bills Head Coach Sean McDermott :“We’re all hurt, sick to our stomachs.”

Josh Allen :  “I’m taking it all in and holding on to that feeling and making sure we don’t feel like this again.”

Allen is a real leader and player who leaves it all on the field each week. The fact that he  had 9 touchdowns and no interceptions in the last two playoff games speaks volumes for his ability. Allen has matured into a top NFL QB especially when on the biggest stage he shows up and produces excellent performances.  Allen cares tremendously    about winning and making himself a better player. He has worked very hard on being a great QB and all the hard work is paying off with his play on the field.

The Bills front office must now make some very hard decisions about what  players will leave and which players  will return   next season. They most likely will lose a Coordinator during off season, so plenty of change is coming to the Buffalo Bills. My next article will include who I think should return for next season along with possible free agents that could help this team.

The Kansas City Chiefs will make NFL history by being first team to host four consecutive AFC Championship games. Patrick Mahomes is a true champion, who also rises to the occasion on   the game’s biggest stages and wins. I like KC over the Cincinnati Bengals . This game will be another high scoring contest.  I also like the LA Rams and see them  finally beating their arch nemesis the San Francisco 49ers in a hotly contested game.  The Rams can’t seem to beat 49ers but things should change on Sunday. If the Rams win it could be the second team in a row to play The Super Bowl in their home stadium. I see Kansas City Chiefs v. LA Rams in Superbowl LVI. Enjoy the games.
