UB Football News
Okay….okay……okay so maybe the Bulls do hit. They definitely hit their stride at the right time against Ohio as Alex McNulty kicked the game winning field goal as time expired for a 27-26 victory. The Bulls rallied back from a 21-point deficit in the first quarter to get this win which brought their record to 3-4 on the season and kept their bowl game hopes alive. Kyle Vantrease had a solid outing completing 22 of 30 for 251 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The junior running back Dylan McDuffie was a major force for the Bulls running attack as he piled up 143 yards on 23 carries and added a touchdown. Jqmes Patterson was a tackling machine as he lead the defense with 15 tackles and was all over the field. The Bulls next game is on the road against Akron. Will the Bulls gritty play continues as they look to back to .500? For more

Buffalo Bills News
When anyone speaks of the Buffalo Bills this week a couple of two word phrases should stand out. The first being deja vu and the second and most important phrase is missed opportunity. The Buffalo Bills were looking really good until the fourth quarter in which both the offense and defensive coordinator coached themselves right out of the victory on Monday Night Football. The playcalling was good at being terrible. I swear if Brian Daboll doesnt quit calling quarterback runs and sneaks in bunch formation, I just might have a panic attack. At this point calling that type of play is only a preverse way of promoting insanity. IT DOESNT WORK and IT HASN’T ALL SEASON. Leslie Fraser also has to be mentioned for his lackluster defensive play-calling. The biggest question that comes to mind is why with the cornerbacks be giving receivers free releases off the line especially when Julio Jones and AJ Brown is on the bench. What happened to being aggressive? There was no type of pass rush whatsoever and Ryan Tannehill completed the same pass five times in a row. Let’s just call it what it is Leslie Frazier allowed Derrick Henry to dictate what defense he was running in the second half. This was an all-out disappointment and there are no moral victories to be had. At least they have two weeks to correct their misguided play-calling. Last year the Buffalo Bills lost to the Arizona Cardinals before the bye week. What happened next was nothing short of remarkable as they won every game all the way to the AFC Championship game afterwards. Hopefully this will be Deja Vu as the Bills will be on a bye week this week.
Buffalo Sabres News
I just wonder how many people if you would have asked him what the Sabres record would be after three games if anybody would have said that they would be undefeated. The Buffalo Sabres under new head coach Don Granato have been playing exceptionally well. Some people will contribute that to being at home to start the season. Some folks will also say that this is all deja vu and that we have seen this before from the Sabres. But I want to address the elephant in the room by saying could this motivation and new found environment of hard work be because Jack Eichel is not in the building? Are the Sabres using his absence as fuel to propel this team to greater heights. Everybody knows it’s only three games then but this feels different. It was a blessing to be at the Sabres 5-2 win over Vancouver on Tuesday night as I was able to ask Coach Granato about the culture and the philosophy that he has bestowed on this team. This was a team that only had 30 shots on goal three times last season. This season they already have three games where they’ve shot 30 shots or more. Coach Granato didn’t have an answer for the question but I guess we will find out more as the season progresses. As for now the Sabres are undefeated at 3-0-0.
