On September 25 MANUP Buffalo will present the 10th Anniversary Cruisin’ for a Cure Buffalo-Niagara Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show, and Free Early Prostate Cancer Detection Event.
It will be sponsored and hosted by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and will take place on Roswell Park’s grounds in the Buffalo Medical Campus at Elm and Carlton Streets.
Car show hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with the Free Prostate Cancer Detection event taking place from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. only.
This event screens over 130 at-risk men yearly.
The mission of Manup Buffalo Inc., a volunteer organization, is to raise prostate cancer awareness.
Black men both get and die from prostate cancer at a higher rate. The reasons are complex and unclear.
Black men are 50% more likely to develop prostate cancer in their lifetime and twice as likely to die from the disease.
Next Week: Fear can prevent men from early prostate cancer detection, but survivor encourages them to MANUP.
