Brown to Run for Fifth Term as Mayor
Mayor Byron Brown has announced that he will seek an unprecedented fifth term as mayor in this year’s election. The Democratic Party is set to endorse his candidacy this week.
Should Brown be re-elected, he will break the four-term record held he shares with the late Mayor James Griffin.
India Walton, the former nurse and executive director of the Fruit Belt Community Land Trust who earlier this year announced her candidacy, said despite the Democratic party’s endorsement of Brown, that she is in the race “for the long haul” to challenge in the upcoming June Primary.
