It’s clearly apparent that Bills guard Jon Feliciano is the heart and soul of the offensive line. Feliciano moved over to Center position once Mitch Morse left the game with another concussion. He’s had at least five concussions and probably will be lost for some time to come.
Bills QB Josh Allen was 11 for 18 with 154 yards and one interception which was good enough against the undermanned Patriots but will be a serious problem in coming weeks against tougher opponents. Josh still has not elevated his game against top echelon competition.
The Bills running game is starting to improve with Zack Moss and Devin Singletary each going over 80 plus yards, the first time for a Bills running back duo since 2016. The Bills rushed for 190 yards their best output for the season. The weather is turning wintery and the Bills must take pressure off Allan with a strong running game. The team must start winning games with Josh Allen in spite of him. Their defense is definitely a work in progress with new pieces being added and subtracted weekly.
The Bills addition of Justin Zimmer seems to be playing with a mean streak and Jerry Hughes is starting to bring it. Tremaine Edmunds continues to hustle to make plays but it’s tough when you have to get off of an offensive lineman in order to make a tackle. The Bills must make moves at upcoming trade deadlines to find a run stuffing nose guard. Bills safety Jordan Poyer said,” Going to enjoy this one…It’s one game at a time. We’ll look at the scoreboard at the end of the season and see where we’re at.”
Yes, before looking at the end of the season ‘s scoreboard Bills General Manager Brandon Beane must make some moves on the defensive front to stabilize the line and possibly another veteran cornerback. Beane ‘s big mistake was not resigning Kevin Johnson instead of wasting six million dollars on Josh Norman, whose Getting Mossed highlight is now a regular on all NFL advertisements. Norman is currently still out with a hamstring injury.
The Bills defensive front has not dominated anybody so far this season and that’s because of terrible moves by Brandon Beane and Head Coach Seam McDermott letting go of Jordan Phillips and Shaq Lawson, who had a big game for Miami Dolphins in a win over the LA Rams. The Bills over price special teamer Tyler Matakevich made a recovery of an onside kick that helped Bills in a win over the Patriots.
Brandon Beane seems to over pay for mediocre football players and friends of his and Head Coach McDermott. The Carolina connection should be over and done with and now pick up younger football players still in their prime.
The Bills face the 6 – 1 Seattle Seahawks at Buffalo Bills Stadium on Sunday and I see Russell Wilson and the modern day Megatron D.K. Metcalf coming in with a strong running game to beat the Bills 31 – 21.
NFL MVP candidate Russell Wilson is a winner and always finds a way to keep his team in the game. The Bills offense must control the ball in order to stay in the game with running backs moving the chains. Josh Allen is long overdue to step up in a big game and make a difference in the Bills winning a game against a legitimate Super Bowl contender; Allen must show he’s worthy of a contract extension in these last eight games.
