Kayla Witherspoon: VP of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus

Kayla Witherspoon has been a member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus since 2014. She is currently  serving her first term as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Chorus. 

Kayla has been a member of Humboldt Parkway Baptist Church since 1997, where Rev. John T. Hilliard is pastor. She has served as the assistant director of the Humboldt Parkway Baptist Church Mass Choir since 2018. She has also served as Junior Usher Board supervisor and as director of the Youth and Young Adult Choir for over a decade.

Kayla is currently a member of the Renovation Church of Buffalo, where Rev. Brek Cocktrell is pastor. She serves as a member of the church’s Dream Team. 

Kayla is employed by the    Erie County Democratic Committee as a Canvass  Director and for the Erie County Board of Elections as a Junior Election Clerk. In past roles, she has taken on marketing, internal communications, vendor relations, community outreach, and field training. 

Born and raised in Buffalo, Kayla Natalie Witherspoon is the daughter of  Debra and Ronald Witherspoon. Kayla  graduated from City Honors School in 2009. Two years later in 2011 she studied abroad in Japan  and graduated from the University of Buffalo with Bachelor of Arts in Communication and concentrations in Asian Studies and Japanese in 2014. She received her Master of Arts in Global Studies and International Relations from Northeastern University in April 2019.
