“Rally to Complete Count” Press Conference Planned for July 22 at MLK Park Influencers And Leaders From Communities Of Color To Advocate For Census Participation
The Rochester-Monroe Complete Count Committee will host a socially distant press conference on Wednesday, July 22 at MLK park. A video will be produced documenting the gathering, with the goal of increasing community participation in the 2020 Census.
The press conference theme, “Rally to Complete Count,” will reflect the current movement for racial equity in our community and will address why completing the questionnaire is a direct action to strengthen Black and Brown communities in Rochester.
Local influencers and leaders in the Black, LatinX, and New Americans community will take the podium to talk about the consequences of their respective communities not completing the questionnaire. Speakers will also encourage the community to use social media to spread awareness about Rochester’s road to a complete count for the 2020 Census.
