In a statement today Sunday June 7, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown has officially lifted the week long nightly curfew that had residents locked down after 8pm on the heals of recent protests in the city in reaction to the murder of George Floyd. The mayor met with members of the community, including Free the People WNY Coalition, and consulted with Buffalo Police management and members of the Common Council before making the decision to lift the curfew. “We all agree to lift the curfew while we continue to hear the voices of the community.” The coalition and other community groups have committed to ensuring demonstrations they lead remain peaceful .
