“As first responders, the CHCB team of medical professionals and staff are here to serve our communities. Through our use of telemedicine, our doctors can see or speak to patients without them even leaving their homes. Visits can be conducted using a computer or a smart phone. We can even sign patients up for insurance by phone.”
Dr. LaVonne Ansari, CEO
The Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. (CHCB), is open and ready to serve you! In the midst of the world’s worst health crisis in more than a century, the CHCB team of medical professionals and staff remains committed to serving our communities in both Erie and Niagara counties. All of our sites in Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Niagara Falls and Lockport are open.
In their efforts to continue seeing patients with health concerns, they are taking every precaution to contain the spread Coronavirus or COVID- 19.
For example, anyone who enters any of their sites, including staff, vendors, delivery persons, and patients will have their temperature taken along with a brief survey for assessing symptoms. Met-Care Pharmacy is located on the 1st floor of the Buffalo site and they deliver. Discounted medications are also available through CHCB and other partnering pharmacies.
What sets CHCB apart from its counterparts to keep communities healthy during the current pandemic?
“It’s our leadership, the diversity and commitment of our staff, and our utilization of technology,” noted Chris General, IT Director. “All of our patients have access to Telemedicine appointments. All they have to do is call and ask for one. In addition, we serve a large refugee population and we use translation technology to communicate effectively.”
All four sites are strategically located across Erie and Niagara counties to provide access to quality health care.
“Make an appointment. Take care of your health. Even if you don’t have your co-pay, you can spread the cost out over time through payment plans,” stated Rudo, Mushonga, Director of Nursing.
“Access to care is our primary purpose both during the current health situation and beyond” ssaid Dr. Bharat Kohli, Chief Medical Officer.
