Torch’s Highlighted Teams of the Week
1. Houston Texans: In the battle of elite AFC quarterbacks, DeShaun Watson and the Texans went into Kansas City just like the Colts did last week and beat the reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs as he threw for 280 yards and ran for the game winning score.
2. New York Jets: The return of quarterback Sam Darnold proved to be a different maker as Darnold threw a 92 yard TD pass to Robbie Anderson. Sam Darnold ended the game with 338 yards passing and 2 TD passes. The Jets have jumped off the winless boat and the Cowboys have now lost 3 straight games.
3. San Francisco 49ers:
The NFC’s best defense showed again why they are the only undefeated team in the NFC as they demolished the Rams holding Jared Goff to 78 yards passing and sacking him 4 times. The 5-0 start is the best for this franchise since 1990. The Rams have now also lost 3 straight  games.
Buffalo Sabres News
The Buffalo Sabres continue to roll through the competition as they have jumped out to a 5-0-1 record after beating the brakes off Ben Bishop and the Dallas Stars. Two things definitely stand out after this 4-0 victory. First, the Sabres beat Ben Bishop for the first time ever as a franchise. The Sabres had lost the first 11 meetings against Bishop. Secondly, Victor Olofsson became the first NHL rookie to score his first 7 goals all on the power play. The Sabres continue to show that they are very stout and sound at all phases of the game. The Sabres will play The Ducks on 10/16 in Anaheim.
In Other News
The Bills and Bulls had bye weeks this past week….Next Game for the Bills is at home against the winless Dolphins. The Bulls will play against the winless Akron Zips.
