On July 10th at 7 pm, Talking Leaves, 951 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, will host a conversation between authors and Buffalo natives Amber Smith and Janet McNally about writing for young adults.
Amber Smith, now a resident of Charlotte, NC, has written 3 novels for young adults–the most recent, Something Like Gravity, has just been released. Janet McNally, professor in the creative writing program at her alma mater, Canisius College, has written two young adult novels, along with an award-winning book of poems.
They will discuss the joys and issues of writing for and about young adults, and talk about the changes in children’s literature in the past few decades.
The conversation will be punctuated by each author reading briefly from their work.
This event is free and open to the public.
