Buffalo Bills News
The NFL Draft proved to be an event with plenty of surprise acquisitions. The Buffalo Bills looked to improve an organization that was proclaimed to have had the best free agency moves in the NFL. The NFL Draft would be another step towards the team getting back to the playoffs again. The Bills originally was blessed with 9 draft picks in this years draft. This is how the Buffalo Bills fared in the ever so important NFL draft.
Round 1 • Pick 9 (9) • DT Ed Oliver
Round 2 • Pick 6 (38) • T Cody Ford
Round 3 • Pick 11 (74) • RB Devin Singletary
Round 3 • Pick 33 (96) • TE Dawson Knox
Round 5 • Pick 9 (147) • LB Vosean Joseph
Round 6 • Pick 8 (181) • S Jaquan Johnson
Round 7 • Pick 11 (225) • DE Darryl Johnson
Round 7 • Pick 14 (228) • TE Tommy Sweeney
Personally, I love the Ed Oliver pick even though he wanted to be part of the Jets organization as he was seen rocking a Jets T-Shirt but his enthusiasm couldn’t be measured when he fell in the lap of the Buffalo Bills at Pick #9. As a true freshman, Oliver finished 2nd in the country with 23 tackles for losses. In his sophomore year at Houston, he became American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year in which he had 73 tackles, 16.5 of those were for a loss, and 5.5 sacks. OIiver has drawn comparisons to the best defensive lineman in the NFL in Aaron Donald. He will definitely be a Day One starter as he will fill the position vacated by the 13 year veteran Kyle Williams who retired at the end of last season. I also could see Cody Ford who the Bills traded two spots up for as a Day One starter who will fill the Right Tackle position. Devin Singletary is an interesting pick because he has a similar running style to LeSean McCoy who is obviously the Bills starting running back. This pick has drawn controversy to whether McCoy will stay as the Bills running back or if he will be traded or even cut. The Bills better not cut Shady.
Yes I said it. The Bills second 3rd round pick was a strategic move to keep another AFC East rival from acquiring TE Dawson Knox who was a major target being sought out for by the New England Patriots. The game of “Keep Away” is real. Knox played at the University of Mississippi as a walk on in 2015. He recorded 39 receptions for 605 yards as a Rebel. Will all of the Bills draft picks make the team? NFL rosters are only allowed to have 53 men on it before the season starts. On another note with all the new acquisitions on the offensive side of the ball, Do you think the Bills should change the offensive coordinator position from Brian Daboll to someone else? I think they should and a good candidate for the job would be Ken Dorsey.

The NBA Playoff season has dropped 26% in viewership as Lebron James absence seems to be the defining reason for this negative impact in viewership. I believe that this year’s playoff season has really been interesting as the Portland Trailbrazers have in my opinion been the most exciting team to watch. Currently, The Warriors and Bucks have 2-1 series leads and the Toronto-Philadelphia and the Portland-Denver series is tied at 2 a piece. The players that have stood out in these playoffs are Damien Lillard, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Joel Embiid, and James Harden. Which teams and players will advance to the next round?
The Buffalo Bisons ended their homestand on Cinco De Mayo with a 3-2 victory over the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs. The Bisons current record is 11-17. Their next homestand will start on May 14th as they play against the Gwinett Stripers and end with the Louisville Bats on the 19th. Will the Bisons inch closer to a .500 record before they start their next homestand?
