Leroy Coles Jr. Branch Library Dedication

On April 26, the Leroy R. Coles Jr. Branch Library Dedication was held at the building’s  Bailey/Delavan location. The turnout was tremendous! Our hats are off to Sandi Williams, a military veteran who came up with the idea that there should be a building in Buffalo named to acknowledge the contribution of the late Leroy Coles, a renowned civil rights activist and a past president of the Buffalo Urban League.  Her hard work, dedication and vision should be commended! Pictured (top photo)  the Buffalo Promise Neighborhood Children’s Academy  performed.  In  photo above, Neil Leroy Coles, the son of the late Leroy Coles, delivered heartfelt remarks on behalf of the family. Other speakers included Mayor Brown, County Executive Poloncarz,  Urban League   President   Brenda W. McDuffie, Alpha Brother James R. Heck III and Rev. George F. Nicholas. This community owes a world of thanks to Ms. Williams and her vision in honororing a Buffalo legend. Photo By Richard  E. Clark
