I want to thank everybody for rising up right with me this week. Let’s get right into the hottest sports highlights.
In a battle of best player versus best team, the sum has proven to be bigger than its parts. As the Golden State Warriors with a full team effort has gained a 2-0 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Lebron James scored 51 in Game One and almost stole Game One when in the final moments of regulation what was called a charge on Kevin Durant was overturned and called a blocking foul on Lebron James. After seeing the replays, Do you think this was a charge or a block? A few plays later, after a made free throw that tied the game by George Hill, the second free throw was missed with 4.1 seconds reminding and with great hustle JR Smith got the rebound but instead of shooting the ball or the coach calling timeout, Smith pulled the ball back to nearly half court then passed the ball to Hill but it was too late. After the Game One loss, Smith told reporters that he thought the Cavs were up…..sadly it cost the Cavs as the Warriors won Game One 124-114 in OT. In Game Two, the Warriors dominated the Cavs 122-103 and Stephen Curry broke Ray Allen’s record of 8 three pointers in a finals game by hitting 9 which included one from 35 feet over an outstretched Kevin Love. Durant scored 26 on an efficient 10-14 shooting night. Lebron James scored 29 on 10-20 shooting with 13 assists and 9 rebounds. Kevin Love also had 22 points and 10 rebounds. Game Three is today at 9pm at the Q.
In recent news, sources say that Terrell Owens wants to make a San Francisco 49ers reunion. Sources say Owens and John Lynch have been talking about the possibility of an NFL return. Owens stated on Twitter that he would take the veteran minimum to pay. In local NFL news, Hall of Fame quarterback and cancer survivor Jim Kelly is expected to be honored with the Jimmy V award for perseverance at the Espys in July of 2018. Also Andre “The Torch” Robinson for the first time will be at OTA’s on Thursday morning interviewing Bills players after the press conference with Bills head coach Sean McDermott. I want to thank Challenger News, Muki Hawkins, Pat Freeman, George Radney, and everyone who supports Rise Up Family for making this dream come to life. Thank you everyone.
