“Celebrating Women Touching the World”!

At its 12th  annual awards dinner, Unlimited Possibilities Overcoming Poverty Ministry Inc. will honor 42 women from throughout Western New York at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, Saturday March 23 at 7 p.m. The 2019 theme for this royal affair is “Celebrating Women Touching the World” in honor of National Women’s History Month. The special Music Maker is First Lady Sirgourney Cook, a professional opera singer of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Leah Daniel, Yvonne Evans, Laura Smith, Theresa E. Pope and Regina Calhoun are the general chairpersons. The purpose of this annual awards dinner is to celebrate National Women’s History Month with the recognition of women and to spotlight their achievements, community service, professionalism, and exemplary leadership. Women in the area will receive “Angel Touching the World” Awards.

Shannon Smith a reporter for WIVB channel 4 and Karys Belger a reporter for WGR Channel 2 will be award presenters. Financial support in the amount of $5,000 will be given to five enrolled college young women at the awards dinner.

This year’s honorees are 42 beautiful women from all walks of life that represent a colorful rainbow. They include Corine Alston, Robin Barker, Nakisha Bridgers, Shana Broughton, First Lady Bertha Brinson, Orinthia Baker, Tyra Blodgett, Valerie  Booker, Charmaine Bowman, Marie Cannon, LaToya Chestnut, Tiffany ColeDestani Cleveland, Alaina Cottrell, Kia Michele Debnam, Veronica Golden, First Lady Sirgourney Cook, Cherish Davis, Kenyana David, Christina Foster, Annette Fontanez,  Nekia Kemp, Tracey Green, Susan Grelick, FirstLady Linda Hardaway, Tonya Harris, Renee Harns, Faustenia Morrow, Jacqueline Rushton, Denay Scales, Danetta McKinnon, Sharon Parmer, Kristeka Rogers, Aquanna Sherrod,  Sabriyah Smith, A’Dina Stevens, Christine Salamone,  Karen Saxon, Racheal Tarapacki, Christina J. Williams, Ottilie Woodruff, and Sharon Wilson.

Special awards will also be given during the evening including the annual Humanitarian Living Legacy Award given for community service. Mother Janet Clark’s family will receive the organizations Third MEMORIAL Award in her honor. Proceeds from the event will support female college bound students from a poverty background who are enrolled in College .
