I want to thank everybody for rising up right with me this week. Let’s get right into the highlights.
Sunday September 9th was pandemonium as the NFL season started with the catastrophic demise of the Buffalo Bills. This was the beginning in which many thought the Bills would be an opportunity to show that they were ready to elevate to new heights after this past season. The Bills were coming off a season in which they ended the 17year playoff drought. Those hopes in Week 1 went up in smoke as the Bills vs Ravens matchup turned into a Baltimore beat-down.
The final score was 47-3. The Bills offensive line as projected was absolutely horrible as they gave up 6 sacks. Nathan Peterman who was the starter in this game had a very forgettable performance as he was pulled from the game early after his stat line was 5-18 for 24 yards and 2 interceptions. Josh Allen stepped in during garbage time as the score was already 40-0 in favor of the Ravens and didn’t do much as he finished 6-15 74 yards and a QBR rating of 33.9. LeSean McCoy had 7 carries in this game for 22 yards.
Zay Jones led the Bills in receiving stats as he caught 3 passes for 26 yards. The Bills will have a lot to fix as next week’s contest won’t be any easier. The Bills will be at home this week against the Chargers. The Football power index is giving the Bills a 38% percent chance of winning this game.
UB Football News
The UB Bulls football team is now 2-0 for the first time since I was born in 1983 as they defeated the Temple Owls in exciting fashion 36-29. Anthony Johnson finished had a game-high six catches and 76 yards, including his game-winning 29-yard reception from Tyree Jackson with 59 seconds to play. This game meant a lot to the UB Bulls as it was reported by the Buffalo News that a friend that Anthony Johnson grew up with since elementary school was shot and killed before the UB vs Temple game. We send our prayers to that family. The UB Bulls will face Eastern Michigan this Saturday at home. Will the Bulls win the MAC Conference this season?
