Rise Up Right Sports Highlights with Andre ‘The Torch’ Robinson

I want to thank everybody for rising up right with me this week. Let’s get right into the highlights.

Local Sports News

This has been an interesting week for local sports fans and writers alike as the Buffalo Bills held their offseason minicamp. It was very exciting to see the player working their tails off to be better. The defense looked pretty good as players like Kyle Williams, Jerry Hughes, Vontae Davis, TreDavious White, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer and many others showed up and did not disappoint. The chemistry on this team was awesome to see as I stood closely and watched Vontae Davis and TreDavious White bonding very well. On offense, LeSean McCoy, Kelvin Benjamin, Rod Streater, Josh Allen, AJ McCarron, and Nathan Peterman were also in attendance and going hard. Josh Allen got some first team reps in minicamp and seems to be progressing well and importantly building chemistry with his new teammates as they had a team meeting after one of there practices. Look out as the training camp schedule is officially out. The Challenger News wants Buffalo Bills Mafia to show there support and come out to the training camp dates that are accessible to the public. For dates and times check out The Challenger News website.

In Minor League Baseball

The Buffalo Bisons have been a must see as they are currently 2nd in their division. They are playing with more passion then I’ve seen them play with in a copious amount of years. For the first time on Friday, I was able from the press box to cover the Friday Night Bash game against the Rochester Red Wings in which the Bisons won 4-3. Darnell Sweeney showed out with a 2 run double and solo home run. The Bisons are currently 33-29 as they go on a road stand this week against the Pawtucket Red Sox. I want to give thanks to a great Buffalo Bisons organization for the great hospitality shown as I look forward to covering more Bisons Baseball. Jay Burney and Brad Bisbing made the experience a great experience. Thank you guys.

In Other Sports News

The NBA world will be in a frenzy as the offseason continues to get hotter as Khwai Leonard has told the sports world that he wants to be a Laker next season. There has been rumors swirling that the Lakers may look to obtain LeBron James Khwai Leonard, and Paul George this offseason. If you thought that was you major news then this is a bombshell just waiting to explode. Golden State and the media have confirmed that Draymond Green will not sign an extension this offseason as Green will be looking for a super max contract deal. In light of this situation, other rumors have arose that Golden State may be looking to trade Draymond Green and Klay Thompson to the Pelicans for Anthony Davis. All I can say is stay tuned and watch as the offseason unfolds.

According to many sources, the boxing world will finally get the fight that everyone has wanted to see as Anthony Joshua and Detonay Wilder will square off. The fight doesn’t have a schedule date yet due to the scheduling of Canelo vs GGG Part 2 which is set to take place on September 15th. According to one source, the fight may not even take place until February in the U.K. But the wait may be worth it.

Speaking for worth it……
